ABOUT ECICP

The Early Intervention Coordination Program is a joint initiative of the NSW Government Departments of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (DADHC), Community Services (DoCS), Education and Training (DET) and Health in conjunction with Early Childhood Intervention Australia Inc (ECIA NSW Chapter) and other nongovernment organisations to coordinate planning and delivery of early intervention services to families who have a child with a disability or developmental delay.

The purpose of the Early Childhood Intervention Coordination Program (ECICP) is to provide a coordinated early childhood intervention service by involving people from health, therapy, education and support services working together with families.

The local Albury ECICP network meets monthly during school terms to facilitate a coordinated approach:

  • Early identification of children and families who need support
  • Families are given information and choices about available services
  • Services and families plan and work together to meet the needs of the child and the family
  • Quality services are provided
  • Opportunities for Working Collaboratlvely, Information Sharing and Professional Development
